Sustainability at Flores & Bloom

Respecting you and the planet with regenerative flower growing

Growing with Care and Intention

Flores & Bloom is built on thoughtful, seed‑grown floristry. I grow every flower myself here in the UK, tending each stage from seed to bloom with attention and respect for the land. My approach to regenerative flower growing is small‑scale, hands‑on, and rooted in choices that feel aligned with slow craft and natural processes.

This page shares the methods I use and the principles that guide my studio. You can read more about the studio and my approach on the About page.

Regenerative Flower Growing and No-Dig Methods

Working with the soil, not against it

I grow using a no‑dig method, which means the soil is left undisturbed and allowed to build its own natural structure over time. This approach supports the life already present in the soil and creates a calm, steady foundation for healthy growth.

Inspired by established no‑dig growers

My growing approach is shaped by regenerative flower growing, no-dig principles, inspired by the word of growers such as Charles Dowding and Briana Bosch at Blossom & Branch Farm.

Natural Drying and Craft

Air‑drying with patience

All flowers are dried naturally using simple, traditional methods. No chemical preservatives are used — just time, airflow, and careful handling. A very limited number of stems may be artist-dyed to enhance colour. On rare occasions I enhance colour through artist-dying – currently only Amaranthus. Everything else is completely natural, dried just as it grows.

Harvested at the right moment

Each stem is picked at its peak and dried in small batches to preserve its shape, colour, and character. This slow approach allows every arrangement to hold a sense of presence and longevity.

Seed‑Grown

Flowers that begin and end in the same place

I grow the majority of the flowers I use myself, working in small batches and drying each stem with care. When I need to supplement, I source additional stems from trusted suppliers, always choosing quality over quantity.

Small‑scale, hands‑on growing

Because I grow in small batches, I’m able to give each plant the attention it needs. This creates a slower, more thoughtful rhythm — one that shapes the character of every arrangement.

Thoughtful Packaging Choices

Simple, minimal materials

I use minimal packaging and choose materials that can be recycled or reused where possible. My aim is to keep packaging simple, functional, and aligned with the quiet, intentional nature of the studio.

Designed for protection, not excess

Every order is wrapped with care to ensure it arrives safely, without unnecessary layers or embellishment.

A Studio Rooted in Respect for the Land

Flores & Bloom is shaped by a desire to grow and create in a way that feels grounded, mindful, and connected to the land. My choices are guided by respect — for the soil, for the seasons, and for the slow processes that give each flower its character.

This is not about labels.
It’s about growing with awareness, crafting with intention, and honouring the natural world that makes this work possible.

The roots of Flores & Bloom run deeper than the growing methods alone – you can read more in Our Story.
